No magic pill prevents aging, which is a beautiful process. However, oftentimes, there are aspects of aging that can make people feel self-conscious, one being the appearance of their skin. Although we cannot turn back the hands of time, there are minimally invasive ways to help delay the aging process. Facial rejuvenation techniques, like microneedling and nanoneedling are non-surgical procedures that can help stimulate the production of collagen and help tighten loose skin. Collagen is a protein in your body that gives your skin structure, strength, and elasticity. As we age, collagen levels decrease, contributing to the appearance of aging skin. Microneedling and nanoneedling can effectively treat fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, and acne scars. They improve skin texture and color. They also significantly improve the absorption of skin-care products.
Microneedling creates “micro-injuries” to the skin, which induces inflammation. The inflammatory response caused by micro-injuries stimulates the skin to go into repair mode. While in repair mode, the body increases the production of collagen and elastin to resolve the “micro-injuries.” This healing response remodels the skin and results in younger, firmer, more radiant, and even-looking skin. Microneedling creates micro-injuries deep within the skin, and nanoneedling focuses on the very top layer of skin.
In conjunction with microneedling, body acupuncture points will be used during each treatment. Body acupuncture will address internal causes of aging and bodily imbalances, which often appear on the face. The combination of acupuncture, microneedling, and nanoneedling can drastically enhance the effects of the microneedling procedure. Also, LED light therapy is included with each treatment session. LED, or Light Emitting Diode phototherapy, applies light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy is used to enhance cellular performance. LED light therapy works to boost collagen production. Research has shown that phototherapy can: increase circulation, accelerate tissue repair, decrease wrinkles, decrease inflammation, improve skin tone, texture, and clarity, kill acne bacteria, and much more.
For optimal results, microneedling is done once per month for up to six sessions. Nanoneedling can be done every other day. Following your treatment, the skin may appear pink or slightly red. It may feel like a mild sunburn. This should subside after 12-24 hours. You may see noticeable results after the first session, and results will continue to improve throughout the monthly treatments. Once you complete the initial series of sessions, maintenance treatments may be completed a few times a year. Lasting results may vary, but results may last up to 5 years!
